This module is designed for students who already have some knowledge of the Mandarin Chinese language, but who wish to move beyond a basic level of competence and focus on the acquisition of the vocabulary, functions and structures necessary for everyday oral communication purposes. The objective of the module is to enable students to develop competence in a range of language tasks performed in familiar contexts. The module will provide the opportunity to explore aspects of Chinese culture and society. This module will be delivered via small group teaching with classes having a maximum of 18 students. Students will also have access to extra resources and materials via Moodle, the ALC's Virtual Learning Environment.
