Undergraduate (Level 8 NFQ , Credits 240 )
The BCL (Law with French Law) allows you to undertake a degree in Irish law, whilst simultaneously acquiring a broad knowledge of French law and a very high level of competence in French language and French legal terminology. While on this degree, you will gain comparative insights which inform an enhanced critical perspective on Irish law. The third year of the degree is spent at a leading French law school.

You will also advance your French language skill and gain a preliminary knowledge of French Private Law.

Third & Fourth Year
You will spend your third year at a partner university in Paris, Toulouse or Aix-Marseilles, and will return to UCD for the final year of the degree.In UCD, as a fourth year student,you will choose from a variety of law modules including clinical legal education modules offered at the Clinical Legal Education Centre (CLEC).

Note: some modules on this degree are taught through French.
You will attend lectures and tutorials, in addition to engaging in study and preparatory work.

Assessment is through a combination of end-of-semester examinations, essays and group work projects.
