Learning Enhancement Projects Consultation

General Information

Overview

€170,000 has been made available to UCD to support small-scale Learning Enhancement Projects.  This consultation event aims to bring together a broad cross-section of the UCD community including students, faculty and staff to help identify areas of focus within and across schools and units that could benefit from small-scale enhancement funding.

Event Objectives

The specific objectives of the event are to:

  1. Identify a list of key themes or issues (specific teaching and learning challenges currently being faced) that could be a focus of a learning enhancement project
  2. Develop concrete ideas for achievable, small-scale, time-bound enhancement projects
  3. Obtain suggestions on meaningful ways to spend small-scale funding for learning enhancement
  4. Gather input into how to engage individuals who may not have been previously involved in teaching and learning funded projects

For noting:

  • The projects will begin in early 2020 must be complete by December 2020.
  • Student involvement in partnership with faculty/staff is strongly encouraged
  • Cross-disciplinary projects are welcome
  • Projects on the professional development of those who teach are welcome

This funding has been made available as part of the National Forum's Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement Funding in Higher Education 2019.

This event is open to all UCD faculty, staff and students.
