Detailed Information
This course involves a study of the promotion and protection of human rights under international law. The course aims to provide students with a substantial grounding in the legal foundations of contemporary international human rights law (with particular emphasis on the International Bill of Rights); as well as in the means by which individuals may enforce their rights under IHRL through various complaint procedures and international fact-finding processes. The course will also focus on a range of contemporary challenges to international human rights law, including asylum, human trafficking and threats to the enjoyment of human rights by non-State actors.

Upgrading from audit to credit: You may upgrade from being an audit student to a credit student up to three weeks into term. Please note, however, that you can't change back to being an audit student - if you decide not to complete the assignments and/or sit the exams, this will appear on your academic record.

Refunds
Refunds may in some instances be available for extenuating circumstances, such as serious illness, within two weeks of the start of the module. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing, with supporting documents where appropriate.
