TASKWK07 - Introduction to Happiness

Happiness is an elusive state that everyone wants but few know how to achieve. Since the 1990’s positive psychology has researched happiness and discovered the secrets to a happy life. This talk will focus on defining happiness and exploring our life satisfaction. It will identify the three major routes to happiness and ways to follow each route. It will highlight possible limitations to our happiness and where best to focus our attention in order to create happiness. Recent studies have found that happiness can come in everyday simple rewards. This talk will identify three ways to create happiness now.

Nicky O’Leary (PhD) is a private practioner in the areas of educational psychology, counselling psychology and psychotherapy.   She has wide experience of working with parents, educators and young people especially in the area of giftedness and the achievement of happiness and well-being.  Nicky regularly presents at both national and international conferences.  Her interests include the influence of positive psychology on therapeutic change and the achievement of potential.
