Epilepsy and Intellectual Disability - Reducing Risk and Improving Quality of Life

 

This half-day workshop by Prof. Mike Kerr, Clinical Professor at the Institute of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences, Cardifff University will be of interest to those involved in supporting individuals with intellectual disability who have epilepsy.

 

The workshop will comprise interactive discussion with delegates to understand the assesment of individuals with intellectual disability who have epilepsy, how epilepsy impacts on quality of life, the reduction of risk and how to achieve best outcomes from treatment.

 

Prof. Kerr is an internationally recognised expert in this field and among many professional roles leads the epilepsy special interest group of the Neurepsychiatric Section of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has recently been awarded the prestigious honour of 'Ambassador of Epilepsy' by the International League against Epilepsy.
