A Choral Celebration of Christmas - Tues 18 Dec

Tuesday , 18 December 2018 - 20:00

A Choral Celebration of Christmas - Tuesday 18 December 2018, 8pm

Once again the wonderful Choral Scholars of University College Dublin will perform their 'Choral Celebration of Christmas' in the University Church on St Stephen's Green, Dublin.

Under the direction of their Artistic Director, Desmond Earley, the Choral Scholars of University College Dublin present a programme of festive choral music over three nights at Newman University Church. The programme will feature three world-premiere performances of pieces by Ivo Antognini (CH), Eoghan Desmond (IRL) and Timothy Stephens (USA), as well as festive favourites. Works from their forthcoming album, Perpetual Twilight (Signum), will be performed, and the scholars will share their excitement at the prospect of performing at Carnegie Hall in March 2019. The singers will be joined by acclaimed artists Elizabeth Cooney (violin) and Tristan Russcher (Piano).

PLEASE NOTE: We regret that, this year, we cannot host a pre-concert reception due to the major redevelopment works underway in Newman House - in partnership with the National Library of Ireland, we expect The Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI) at Newman House to open in 2019 as a major international literary attraction in UCD’s historic home, dedicated to one of UCD’s most famous alumni, James Joyce, and the writers that followed him. We look forward to welcoming you back in due course to this new focal point for UCD that reclaims the University’s foothold in the heart of the city.

Please note: Tickets are non-transferrable to another date. Refunds given only in exceptional circumstances.
