Long Description:	This medal was established in honour of Professor Gabriel Kiely, Chair of Social Policy and Social Work in the School of Applied Social Science and Jean Monnet Professor of Family Policies and Social Integration, upon his retirement in September 2006. The medal will be awarded annually to the student who achieves the highest grades (including completion of the fieldwork component) in the first year of the two-year Masters of Social Sciences (Social Work) course.
