Programme Description:
Long Description: The bursary scheme is funded from the generous bequest that Ms Cathryn M. Mahon made to UCD School Archaeology to assist students who wish to study archaeology. The purpose of the award is to honour and celebrate the legacy of Ms Mahon. The bursaries are to support students who are undertaking the full-time, campus-based Masters programmes in University College Dublin. Programmes in the scheme are the MSc in Archaeology FT; Experimental Archaeology and Material Culture FT; MSc in European Prehistories FT; MSC in Hunter Gather Archaeology FT; MSc in World Heritage Management and Conservation FT.


Application consists of a curriculum vitae detailing the career and academic achievements of the applicant. This is to be accompanied by a text of 1,000 words outlining why the student wishes to undertake the MSc programme and how they will benefit professionally and in their career development from it.
Up to four bursaries will be awarded annually, to the value of €3000, at the discretion of the Head of School of Archaeology, dependent on the availability of funding.
