Long Description:	This medal is awarded to the student with the highest grade point average in the Masters programmes in Economics who completes a thesis. Please note that students who do an internship instead of a thesis are not eligible for this award. The medal commemorates Professor Denis Conniffe, an outstanding Irish economist and statistician who took a particular interest in the welfare of graduate students.
