Long Description: The Kevin B Nowlan Prize is a graduate prize in History, University College Dublin. The prize, with an annual value of €200, will be awarded on two occasions beginning in September 2015. It is funded through a testamentary bequest from the late Professor Kevin B Nowlan, to support graduate research in Irish or Modern European history.

The prize will be awarded on the basis of the MA thesis receiving the highest mark in Irish or Modern European history submitted during the academic year in which the prize on offer. The recipient of the prize will be informed of their success prior to their graduation.

The graduate board of the School of History and Archives will determine the proposed recipient of the prize on the basis of the marks of the external and internal assessors of the relevant MA theses. The proposed recipient will be forwarded to the College Executive Committee for approval.
