Programme Description:
Long Description: In any year, the availability of and number of Scholarships will be recommended by
the Arts and Humanities Undergraduate Programme Board to the Principal of the
College of Arts & Humanities for their approval. To be considered for an award, a
student must be registered for a UCD graduate programme, as set out below, prior
to a date set annually by the BA Programme Board.
A student must have a degree GPA of at least 3.68. Where more than one student
meets these criteria, the award will go to the student with the highest degree GPA.
If this produces more than one student, the award will go to the student with the
highest subject GPA within that group of students.
If this produces more than 1 student, the award is divided.
Subject to satisfactory compliance with the normal programme requirements, the
scholarships are tenable for a maximum of two years' consecutive full-time or part-
time study in the case of a Masters degree or a maximum of three years’
consecutive full-time or part-time study in the case of the PhD (including the case of
a student who pursues a Masters Degree immediately followed by the PhD). At the
discretion of the College Principal, a PhD scholarship may be extended for a fourth
and final year. The award may be made to students who are accepted onto
programmes in the areas covered by the degrees listed below. This also includes
students accepted directly onto PhD programmes in these areas:
o Master of Arts
o Master of Education
o Master of Literature (MLitt)
o Master of Equality Studies
o Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
o Master of Guidance and Counselling
o Master of Social Science
o Master of Library and Information Studies
o Master of Musicology
o Master of Development Studies
o Master of Psychological Science
