Long Description: The medal is awarded annually to the student with the highest grade in research methods modules taken for credit within UCD by business studies and human sciences students. The methods modules eligible for consideration in determining the award will be specified by the Director of the PhD Programme in the School of Business.
The medal commemorates the contribution to University College Dublin of Dr Teresa Brannick-McIlduff, who lectured in research methods to generations of undergraduate and postgraduate commerce and social science students. She made significant contributions to research and scholarship in industrial relations, research methods, marketing and management. Dr Brannick-McIlduff pioneered the teaching of research methods at PhD level in the Faculty of Commerce/ School of Business and acted as mentor and supervisor to many PhD students, imparting knowledge, advice and encouragement through her unique combination of intellectual and personal qualities. In her work and service to UCD, Dr Brannick-McIlduff enhanced the knowledge and development of many people, who remember her with fondness and gratitude.
