Long Description: The Biopharmaceutical Engineering MEngSc programme addresses the principal scientific and engineering challenges involved in the design, operation and management of biopharmaceutical production facilities. The programme has been running since 2006 and has produced over 200 graduates to-date. There is a full-time (T070) and part-time (T015) version of the programme.

Takeda is a global biopharmaceutical company that serves patients living with rare diseases. It opened an Irish headquarters in Dublin in early 2017. It is preparing to fully open its new state-of-the-art biologics manufacturing facility at a 120-acre site in Dunboyne, Co Meath.

Takeda Dunboyne Biologics is committed to support the education and training of the next generation of engineers and scientists in the rapidly growing biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector and their support of this prize is part of a growing relationship between the company and the UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering.

Takeda Dunboyne Biologics wishes to fund prizes to students of the Biopharmaceutical Engineering M.Eng.Sc programme. There will be two awards made each year.
