|Long Description:||The James G Lacy Award for Project Excellence in ME Programmes is a major new award for the best Master of Engineering (ME) project that demonstrates excellence in the innovative application of electrical engineering principles within the full range of disciplines of Engineering (Electrical/ Electronic/ Biosystems/Civil/Chemical/Mechanical/ Biomedical/ Energy and Computer Engineering). Projects with an interdisciplinary focus across these domains are especially welcomed. The award will consist of a cash prize of €1,000 and a commemorative plaque. It will be conferred at the Engineering Awards day organised by the Engineering Graduates association in early September.
The award has been instituted in honour of Professor James G. Lacy, Professor Emeritus in the School of Electrical, Electronic & Communications Engineering. It has been made possible through a generous donation by Liam Madden, a former Electronic Engineering graduate from UCD, who is currently an Adjunct Professor in the School and Vice President of the Xilinx Corporation based in Silicon Valley, California.
