Course Overview


COURSE OVERVIEW: The aim of the course is to provide participants with the clinical competence to manage life-threatening cardiac related emergencies in a pre-hospital setting. The course content is based on refreshing the participant’s knowledge of the chain of survival, the recognition and management of life threatening arrhythmias, the roles of individual team members in managing cardiac arrest and the administration of anti-arrhythmic and other cardiac medications. The course will focus on practical skills such as: Management of life threatening emergencies Integration of critical procedures in a simulated emergency situation Basic and advanced airway management and oxygen therapy Use of Automated External Defibrillator TARGET AUDIENCE: This course is of particular interest to General Practitioners and other healthcare providers in the pre-hospital setting who may find themselves dealing with acute emergencies.



PRE-COURSE PREPARATION:  It is a recommended that those booking this course be currently certified in basic life support and AED use. If you wish to complete a BLS course please contact us as we may be in position to offer this in conjunction with this course. Precourse reading will be forwarded to you two weeks in advance of the course.

CPD ACCREDITATION: This course is approved by the ICGP CPD points and by ABA as Cat 1 course.
