Benefits of Alumni Membership

When you graduated from UCD, you became part of our global alumni community. You have a lifelong link to our University and can avail of all the advantages and opportunities that this brings, including regular events and reunions on campus.

As part of this, for an annual fee of just €30.00 you can enjoy a range of benefits including access to all of UCD’s Libraries

Members are entitled to a Reader's Card for all UCD's Libraries.  The card is valid for the academic year, starting 1st October and expiring 30th September.  Online access is only available from within the library. See important note below *.


Campus UCARD - the UCard can be used anywhere you see the UCard symbol next to a pay or service point, such as electronic payments in the main restaurant and other food outlets, gift shop, printing and photocopying. You can topup your UCARD online using a debit/credit card or use one of the topup machines in UCD.


Members will receive a personal copy of the annual alumni magazine, UCD Connections. This magazine has served as a popular communication vehicle between the University and its alumni. Articles and news items from alumni have helped shape every edition of this magazine.


Members can avail of the VHI group scheme. This entitles members to a 10% discount on standard VHI prices. Telephone 1850 44 44 44 and quote the group scheme reference number 1/7863.


Members are entitled to a 10% discount (on Tuition Fee only) on courses run by the Adult Education Centre - Auditing a Course; Access Courses; Outreach Courses. For further information, contact the Adult Education Centre.


Discount on the use of the Squash, Racquetball and Handball Courts and the Prestige 5-a-side/11-a-side artificial pitch and the floodlit synthetic grass tennis courts.  These discounts are available through the UCD Sport Centre on production of your Alumni Membership card. * In keeping with other University services, Library Access will now be issued through the Campus UCARD. The UCARD will be authorised for Library access and this can be renewed each year by updating the card rather than issuing a new one. The UCARD carries a photograph for identification purposes. If you do not have a photo on your record, you will need to provide/upload one when joining or alternatively pop in to the UCARD Bureau, located on the ground floor of the Newman Building, and they can take your photo.

Important Note 1: Your UCARD will be activated for Library access within 1 hour of joining, once approval is granted from the Library.
Important Note 2: You will need to clear any outstanding loans/fees you have with the Library prior to joining - contact the Library directly on this matter at client.services@ucd.ie.

Swimming Pool
Alumni/Graduate rate available for use of the facilities within UCD Sport & Fitness - which houses the new 50M Olympic-size swimming pool, tepidarium and state-of-the-art gymnasium.  Check out the facilities here and call in to UCD Sport & Fitness for your tour of the venue.

UCD/Bank of Ireland affinity credit card. Alumni can avail of the UCD/BOI affinity credit card with special benefits for cardholders. Donations are made by BOI on your behalf to the UCD Alumni Fund. Apply Online here.

Assistance in organising reunions and events
UCD Alumni Relations can provide assistance in organising your class reunion. The office will also help you to find any classmates that you have lost contact with, by forwarding on your information to them. For further information email alumni@ucd.ie or ring 01 716 1447.




Graduates of Architecture, Engineering and Medicine are automatically members of the Architecture Graduates' Asociation (AGA), Engineering Graduates’ Association (EGA) or the  Medical Graduates’ Association (MGA) upon payment of the above subscription rates and will receive invitations relevant to Architecture/Engineering/Medical events held throughout the year.


How to Join


The membership year runs from 1 October to 30 September. For applications made after May 31st, the membership will not expire until September 30th the following year.

To be eligible for membership, you must have completed at least one year at UCD at either undergraduate or graduate level. UCD staff, current and retired are also entitled to apply.

1. APPLY ONLINE

Online Standard membership for €30

To join you will need:

(1) Login to the Alumni Network. Click here for help on how to login.

(2) Credit or Debit Card - payment can also be made using UCARD if you have funds on the card.

(3) Photograph: You may have a photo on record already - you will be able to check this when you log in. If you do not have an image on record or if you would like to update the image you may find these guidelines helpful.

Don't forget to update your address, as this is where your UCARD will be posted, and also your email address to receive notice of your membership renewal.

2. CALL TO THE OFFICE

Visit us in the Alumni Relations Office - Room 102, Tierney Building, First Floor, Belfield, Dublin 4.
Office Hours - 9.30am-12.30pm : 2.30pm-4.30pm.
We will process your membership and then you can go to the UCard Bureau located in the Newman Building - Arts JK Area - (Outside Theatre L).  If you do not have a photo on record this can be taken at the UCard Bureau.

3. BY POST

Download and print the Membership Application Form (pdf).  Send completed form with photo to UCD Alumni Relations, Room 102, Tierney Building, Belfield, Dublin 4.

Your Campus UCard
