FIN41740 Financial Modelling

Financial Modelling is an Elective option designed to provide a practical understanding of how businesses assess and forecast financial performance. Through case studies, this course will focus on modeling and evaluating operational cash flow, working capital requirements, financing instruments, tax, pensions and depreciation, with a focus on the capital structure of a business. Interpretation of the financial modelling output will form an important part of the course.

Financial modelling is a fundamental requirement in assessing businesses performance. This course is essential for any student wishing to gain a deeper understanding of how to evaluate financial performance and assess capital structure issues and is vital for those wishing to pursue a career in Corporate Finance. A core component of the course will be Microsoft Excel based and a base level of knowledge in that area is assumed.
