FIN41310 Applied Investment Mgt

Academic Year 2018/2019

The Applied Investment Management (AIM) module provides students with placements at financial institutions. Students will gain practical investment experience and draw valuable skills from industry professionals through the summer internships. The AIM also provides the chance for students to rigorously apply their developing financial skills in a range of practical situations. A suite of formal lectures, workshops and professional simulations will be run prior to the summer internships.

Learning Outcomes:

On completing this module, students will be expected to be able to

1. Ability to apply the financial skills essential for the investment environment.
2. Communicate clearly to pertinent stakeholders in a business environment.
3. Implement and appraise recent contributions to academic literature in the financial services industry.
4. Expertise in the preparation/completion of the written project.
