BMGT43520 International Business Managem

Academic Year 2023/2024

The module is designed to deepen a student's awareness and understanding of the factors that contribute to effective management of International Business enterprises - large and small, for profit and not for profit. The key contributions to the theory and practice underpinning International Business transactions are considered. Issues examined closely include the drivers of International Business transactions, the role of service enterprises in the global arena, the impact of culture on business decisions and the reasons why certain firms are successful. The role of political, economic, social systems and national governments in facilitating effective IB management is also assessed. Students are expected to develop a critical approach to IB and to be able to manage their own learning. Attention is also given to developing personal / professional communication skills (oral and written), paying particular attention to cultural and regional variations.
