BMGT43760 MC Business/Company Project

Academic Year 2020/2021

The purpose of the MC Research Project / Summer Consulting Project is to give students the opportunity to complete an applied consultancy project, or a research paper relevant to the field of Management Consulting.

(Please note that this is not a taught, classroom-based module. Students engage in self-directed learning and research on-site with the company or elsewhere.)

Option One: Summer Consulting Project:
The student can work individually or in a team (max 5 students) to complete a consulting project for a client company. They may be based at the Smurfit School or on site with the client (where possible), where he or she works independently. This model is similar to a consulting engagement, with regular client meetings, status reports, etc.

Option 2: Research Project:
Students may choose a topic relevant to management consultancy and / or another area of their course work, and complete a 10,000+ word research paper. (A suitable research supervisor must be identified.)
