MKT42300 Business & Society

Academic Year 2017/2018

The Business and Society module aims to consider the role, dynamics, and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable, social, environmental and economic value. The module will consider responsible management broadly, but as a module on the marketing programme many of the examples and cases utilised will have a marketing focus. The module will consider the relationships and tensions that exist between business and society and explore contemporary ethical dilemmas. Student assessment and student engagement will be evoked through debate, case studies, critical analysis and written and verbal expression. Students will be asked to place themselves in particular ethical dilemmas and propose business solutions which are cognizant of the different tensions that exist between various stakeholders.
