This module aims to provide the students with experience of real-life supply chain issues as experienced by organisations in Ireland and internationally. The module will give the student an array of supply chain management skills such as the ability to apply theory to practice, critically analyse current practice and theory, provide solutions to supply chain issues and manage supply chain consulting projects.

Learning Outcomes:

The learning objectives are to use the knowledge from the MSc in supply chain management to solve a supply chain management issue for a company. Students will use synthesis, analysis and critical-thinking skills to develop the solutions for the company. They will use their writing and presentation skills to communicate their work and solution to the company. On completing this module, students will be expected to:
1. Research and analyse a real-life supply chain issue;
2. Manage a supply chain consulting project;
3. Combine different knowledge streams to provide a solution;
4. Professionally present findings on the supply chain issue;
5. Prepare a supply chain management consulting report.

Requirements, Exclusions and Recommendations
Learning Requirements:

The student must have completed and passed all core modules before the consulting project. Exceptions may be given for part-time students where core modules have changed or where timing of modules have changed. All full-time students must have completed and passed modules from semester 1 and have completed modules from semester 2.
