FIN41770 Aircraft Finance

Academic Year 2019/2020

The module provides students with knowledge, understanding and skills in airline and aircraft finance. It will draw on and apply some of the established theories and techniques from general finance, but apply this to the specific problems of the international air transport industry. The course will draw heavily on real market deals which will be used to illustrate the theory and give students an understanding of the practical features of the aviation markets and a feel for actual transactions. It will encourage students to develop creative and analytical approaches to problem-solving in the aviation finance sector. It will also provide students with information on the different funding instruments and the workings of the capital markets and how to develop an overall strategy that will support and manage the risk appetite of an organisation.
