HRM2001D Management Practice

Academic Year 2023/2024

Students will be required to undertake a management practice project involving research and analysis in one of the following areas: Human Resource Management or where suitable, on a topic based within one of the other year 3 modules. This module builds on the analytical skills and information literacy skills developed in BMGT1009D.
The overall purpose of the module is to provide students with an opportunity to examine an aspect of management practice in detail during the course of the trimester and to examine this practice with reference to the academic literature in the area, i.e. with reference to the existing body of knowledge on the selected topic.

In essence, the module requires students to:
-Submit a project proposal
-Prepare a literature review
-Design a piece of research and execute the research
-Write up the research findings and compare the findings with the academic literature reviewed
-Make recommendations to the organisation on how the practice(s) in question could be improved upon
-Prepare a presentation summarising the main points from the research findings, comparison of the literature and research findings and the recommendations for the organisation
