Digital Business and Social Media are rapidly evolving and today they are seen as a central resource in the pursuit of business objectives and strategies. As a result, the role of Digital Business-driven strategic decision making in business needs to be re-evaluated in order to develop a sophisticated understanding of how Digital Business may help today’s organisation to gain and sustain competitive advantage in the global marketplace.

This module discusses the stages necessary to design and implement a digital business and social media strategy supporting an organisation’s overall business strategy.

Learning Outcomes:

On successfully completion of the module, students should be able to

(i) Demonstrate a sound understanding of the major topics surrounding digital business and social media.
(ii) Understand how organisations utilise both digital business and social media initiatives to gain and sustain competitive advantage.
(iii) Draft a digital business and social media strategy for an organisation.
