Introducing the functional area of operations management and demonstrating how it interfaces with an organization's other functional areas.Highlighting the various issues and problems that traditionally arise in the management of operations within both manufacturing and service organizations.Building a familiarity with the terminology, modeling, and methodology often employed in the operations function.Training students to think critically and use analytical tools in making business decisions and problem solving.
