TThis module is designed to explain and evaluate the current thinking in operations management and operations strategy. It is expected that students will gain an understanding of this field and be able to apply theories and concepts in a practical setting. This course will cover strategic management issues such as operations strategy, new product development, enterprise resource planning, relationship management, and service operations as well as more general topics such as quality, environmental concerns, and future trends in operations management.

Learning Outcomes:

Introducing the functional area of operations management and demonstrating how it interfaces with an organization's other functional areas.
Highlighting the various issues and problems that traditionally arise in the management of operations within both manufacturing and service organizations.
Building a familiarity with the terminology, modeling, and methodology often employed in the operations function.
Training students to think critically and use analytical tools in making business decisions and problem solving.
