The MSc Nursing (Clinical Practice) programme helps you to develop valuable knowledge and skills in the areas of clinical leadership and practical research methods that can be applied in the workplace.
We aim to give you a strong theoretical and practical foundation in leadership, health system dynamics and research methods, culminating in a dissertation focused on your practice context.

This programme is designed for holders of Level 9 UCD Graduate Diploma (Specialist area) who wish to deepen and broaden their knowledge and expertise in order to act as clinical leaders in nursing. Holders of level 8 Higher Diplomas should contact the School to discuss their options.
This is a one (academic) year programme, delivered over 2 trimesters.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must be registered as a nurse on a live register
Applicants must be employed in clinical practice/management while undertaking the programme
Experience in management is desirable
Hold a UCD Level 9 Graduate Diploma or Level 9 Higher Diploma in Nursing
Documents Required
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL may be granted in respect of individual modules if applicants can demonstrate that the modules' learning outcomes have been achieved through prior credentialled or experiential learning. In some cases, where an applicant does not meet the prerequisites for entry to a programme, an RPL application may be considered. Further information can be found in respect of this here.
