At the end of this module, students should be able to:
Explore and critically discuss the role of the veterinary profession in society.
Describe and discuss the key concepts and attitudes underpinning professional standards ('code of conduct'), professional behaviour and veterinary ethics.
Be aware of the employment and career options availaible to the modern veterinarian.
Understand the importance of core business skills to the modern veterinarian with a particular emphasis on personal finances.
Have explored and begun to develop the necessary communication, team-building and leadership skills to enable them to be successful in clinical veterinary practice and beyond.
Understand and apply some of the concepts underpinning evidence based veterinary medicine.
