TS00500 SPSS – Statistics Training

Academic Year 2017/2018

The basic statistics this SPSS Training will cover include: descriptive statistics, correlation, t-tests, analysis of variance and non-parametric techniques. The module will guide students, step-by-step, using a dataset that the module co-ordinator will provide. The module co-ordinator will also provide students with a handbook covering the topics covered.

Learning Outcomes:

In this transferrable skills module students will learn (i) how to create a data file in SPSS, (ii) how to set up a syntax file in SPSS, (iii) how to manipulate the data file, (iv) how to run basic statistics in SPSS and (v) how to read an output file generated by SPSS. In manipulating the data file students will learn how to recode and compute data.
