SOC41020 Internship

Academic Year 2023/2024

The UCD School of Sociology will allow students on its masters programmes to find and complete an internship for course credit. Students of the MSc in Social Data Analytics are required to complete either a Masters Dissertation (30 credits) OR a Capstone Research Project (15 credits) and Internship (15 credits) as part completion of the degree programme.

Students will source their own internship, and may wish to take advice from the UCD Careers Development Centre on possible opportunities. The school will facilitate preparation in the first and second trimesters, and the student will undertake the internship during the summer months (from mid/late May - August). Students must do a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 10 weeks. However this period may be extended where the student is completing the capstone research project as part of and as an extension of their internship training.
