SOC40780 Computational Sociology & Complex Data Applications

Academic Year 2016/2017

The module is intended to give an introduction and overview of the emergent field of computational social science. It is not a methodology course but more of an exploration into how we can use the emergent discipline of CSS to explore social science problems and some examples of this from industry case studies and the public sector. In this sense we are looking at the broader research design issues which arise in this area of social science research work. The module consists of a series of presentations and interactive sessions, with lots of opportunities for you to engage and contribute to the discussion.
