By the end of the module students should be able to demonstrate: 1) an ability to critically assess the theory of ethnicity and race; 2) a critical understanding of the social and historical nature of migration; 3) an ability to critically unpack and analyse the theoretical literature, and apply it to the contemporary debates relating to racial, ethnic, and national diversity, cultural transformation and policymaking, especially in Ireland; 5) an ability to write a well-structured essay and exam on questions related to ethnicity, race and migration based on the topics and readings for the module.
