This module is an introduction to the science and research in coaching and coaching practice. Fundamental topics will be covered such as the coaching process and how to structure a coaching session. The aim of the module is to provide students with an awareness of the current coaching literature and how this can inform coaching practice.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This module will be delivered through a variety of formats for optimal student engagement. Students are required to actively engage within their learning, this will be in the format of class contributions, peer learning, presentations and groups discussions. Opportunities will be given to students to choose some content that can be covered, affording autonomy over their learning.

Lectures will be delivered through a mixture of live online lectures and pre recorded lectures. There will be activities imbedded on bright space including quizzes, forums and surveys students will be expected to complete.

An interest in sport and some experience with coaching, either as an athlete or as a coach.
