This module focuses fully on the team dimension. The participants will learn how they are viewed as leaders of teams and how this impacts their performance overall. They will learn how teams operate and will be given a framework for understanding high performing teams. They will also participate in a number of team experiences which will reinforce the learning from the theory and feedback.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module participants should be able to have;

1. A better understanding of the relationship between leaders and teams
2. An understanding of how well they are currently doing in leading teams (360 feedback)
3. An understanding of what motivates individuals who make up teams
4. An understanding of high performance teams
5. An understanding of how they can perform better as team leaders and members

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
The module has a detailed study guide. Students are required to complete the module pre-reading or pre-work prior to attending the seminar sessions. The sessions themselves will be a combination of lectures, group discussion, in-class presentations, case study discussions and classroom exercises. A heavy emphasis in the seminars is on teasing out the implications of theory for practical application in a workplace context
