PSY40770 Knowledge Transfer

This module introduces students to important research skills surrounding the dissemination of research findings. Restricted to those on the MSc in Behavioural Neuroscience programmes, students will
(a) write a popular science account of their research findings (from their research project module) so as to engage with the process of transferring research knowledge in a way that is accessible to lay readers
(b) present their research findings (from their research project module) by way of a short conference style oral presentation so as to engage with the process of transferring research knowledge in a way that is accessible to academic peers

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the module students should:
(1) Understand the importance of research dissemination
(2) Have experience of disseminating their research findings in writing for a lay audience
(3) Have experience of disseminating their research findings by way of an oral presentation aimed at an audience of academic peers
