PHPS41000 Research Project (Human Nutri)

Academic Year 2020/2021

Module Overview:
The final year project will involve either a Research Project or a Systematic Review.

Students will be assigned an individualized final year project (and project supervisor) at the begning of Autumn. The Final Year Project will be within the same theme as the Literature Review Module.
Students will have to opportunity to indicate their preferred the Literature Review and Final Year Project. Whilst every effort will be made to assign a project of interest, the academic team also takes into account the theme of their PWE project (such that it does not overlap with the FYP) and other student preferences.

The project allocation by the module coordinator, in consultation with the academic team, is final and no changes will be made.
Students will be notified of their assigned project by Week 2 of Autumn. The student will complete the Research Project in Spring. Students will be expected to meet regularly with their project supervisor (or designate) in order to ensure timely completion of all aspects of their project.

All students will submit a near-complete, first draft of their final year project thesis in Week 8 of Spring. This will be corrected by the project supervisor and outline of corrections will be given to the student.

All students will complete a presentation outlining their FYP hypothesis, methodology, findings and conclusions of their research project.

The final year project presentations will be scheduled 1-2 weeks prior to the Final Year Project Paper / Thesis deadline.

Students will submit the Final Year Project Paper / Thesis at the end of the module (week 12 Spring).

The specific first and final draft deadline dates will be specified each year by the Project Module Coordinator.
