PHPS40620 Graduate Seminar

Academic Year 2021/2022

This module comprises 10 two-hour seminars over the course of the academic year for PhD and Research Masters students of Public Health. Each seminar is comprised of two or three presentations from graduate students of the SPHPPS or guest external speakers. Presentations cover the broad range of research areas and topics encompassed by the School including topics in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, international health, occupational safety and health, child health, physiotherapy, exercise and performance science, sports management, food and health, nutrigenomics and information technology. Each student presents their work at least once per year, such that over a 3-year full time PhD programme each student will have presented at critical points in their research trajectory (in Year 1, their research proposal; in Year 2, work in progress prior to Transfer Assessment; in Year 3, completed work following thesis submission and prior to viva examination). Students contribute to each other’s work by contributing to discussion and sharing experience and expertise.
