On successful completion of the module, the student should be able to:
1.Classify the major types of disease affecting the following systems (cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, renal, endocrine, reproductive,haematological, lymphoid, central nervous and locomotor)
2.Classify each respective disease type in accordance with current established scientific criteria
3.Outline the aetiology, pathogenesis, macroscopic and microscopic pathologic feature of the major diseases of each system
4.Outline and discuss the complications and prognosis of these major diseases
5. Be able to relate clinical disease presentation with the underlying pathologic process

Students are required to have studied the Mechanisms of Disease(Rad) module or a module with equivalent learning outcomes,and in the latter case, the suitability of such a module will be decided by the module coordinator.
This is an incompatible module for registered UCD medical students.
