On successful completion of this module students should be able to demonstrate the development of competence in the six domains of competences specified by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (2016):
• Professional Values and conduct of the nurse competences in a medical-surgical setting
• Nursing Practice and clinical decision making competences in a medical-surgical setting Interpersonal Relationships with patients, family and other professionals
• Knowledge and cognitive competences
• Management and team competences
• Leadership potential and professional scholarship competences

Must have passed all Stage 3 clinical modules and have completed all Stage 3 clinical time. Must pass practice placement 4A, 4B and 4C supernumerary before undertaking internship modules.

Feedback on clinical performance during the placement will be given to the student by the Preceptor, Co-preceptor, Clinical Nurse Manager/Facilitator and Clinical Placement Coordinator.
