On successful completion of this module students will be able to:
1 - Act as a member of the care team and work towards the development of competence in the following domains of competence.
2 - Professional values and conduct of nurse competences /knowledge and appreciation of the virtues of caring, compassion, integrity, honesty, respect and empathy as a basis of nursing
3 - Nursing practice and clinical decision-making competences including understanding and knowledge of the principles of safe, effective and person-centered care delivery based on partnership
4 - Knowledge and cognitive competences including life, behavioural and health sciences
5 - Communication and Interpersonal competences
6 - Management and team competences
7 -Leadership and professional scholarship competencies including self-directed learning skills, critical questioning /reasoning and maintaining competency

Students must successfully complete Level 1 NCAD internship modules (4A and 4B) before undertaking Level 2 NCAD (4C and 4D).

Feedback on clinical performance during the placement will be given to the student by the Preceptor, Co-preceptor, Clinical Nurse Manager/Facilitator, Clinical Placement Coordinator and personal tutor (at student/clinical site request).
