This module on the microbiology of food borne pathogens is designed to explore the significance of micro-organisms in food borne diseases. Lectures will examine the factors behind the pathogenicity of these organisms and of prion diseases.

On completion of this module students should be able to:. Evaluate the significance of food borne microbial pathogens. Detail the factors responsible for the virulence of such microorganisms. Explain the molecular and biochemical basis of prion diseases.
