MEIN40320 MSc Precision med Internship

Academic Year 2023/2024

On completion of this module the student will have carried out an independent scientific research project and developed a wide range of skills appropriate towards developing a career in the area of data analytics for precision medicine. The student will learn how to design a coherent strategy to address a research question and how to adapt different techniques to overcome problems commonly encountered during research. In addition, the student will gain experience in analyzing and interpreting data and presenting their results in a clear and competent manner both in written and oral format.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Generate a central research question relating to a current issue in data analytics for precision medicine
2. Design a coherent and comprehensive strategy to critically evaluate this research question
3. Execute the research strategy in an effective and efficient manner with appropriate analysis and interpretation
4. Reflect on different stakeholder positions and priorities
5. Formulate evidence-based, defensible, and justifiable conclusions regarding the central research question
6. Communicate the research findings in a clear and competent manner
