This module will exmiane Irish corporate and personal insolvency law. Students will be expected to consider the purposes and policies underpinning an insolvency regime, to consider its distributional impact and to interrogate the role of rescue culture in responding to business failure.

Upon successful completion of this module students will:
(a) Understand the main feautres of Irish corporate insolvency law
(b) Be able to apply legal doctrine to complex problems
(c) Be able to conduct independent legal resarch at an advanced level.
(d) Be able to communicate the results of legal research in a varierty of media
