On participating in this module students should be able to:
- Participate in professional (+ international) competitions
- Identify the methodical steps in design processes from analysis to conceptual design and master-planning and further to detailed design.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the palette of materials available to spatial and object design.
- Understand the role of the designer (landscape architect, architect, urban designer, civil engineer, artist) in a complex urban project.
- Appreciate the importance of appropriate graphic communication.
- Demonstrate a specific design attitude
Key topics addressed in this module are:
international landscape architectural student competition;
design methodology and design process;
working in a (multidisciplinary) team;
graphic communication - coherency and legibility of drawings,
lay out, diagraming, rendering.

Stage work will be discussed in interim presentations and verbal feed back given within the session. After the submission of the competition entry the proposals will presented to and discussed i.e. assessed by the class. Interim and final marks will be released within 2 weeks after the presentations.
