LARC20150 Landscape Studio 2A

Academic Year 2023/2024

Building on the design skills learned in the first stage of the undergraduate programme in landscape architecture, this studio introduces increasingly complex private and communal spaces in urban/suburban context. Students test the design process through a series of projects each starting with research on related topics, precedents and site analysis, proceeding further to conceptual design, masterplanning and detailed design. Students continue to observe, understand and record the landscape on short field trips to sites of cultural and ecological interest in the Dublin area.
All trimester work will be assembled in a documentation and exhibited at the end of Spring.

Feedback Strategy/Strategies

• Group/class feedback, post-assessment
• Self-assessment activities

How will my Feedback be Delivered?

Assignments will be marked and marks delivered according to the academic regulations. Assessments are determined and verbal feedback is given, generally during presentations in studio; marks are delivered within 20 working days. If more than one assessor is reviewing students work, then the assessors' marks for each individual student are averaged. Individual feedback, post assessment, is given on request by students. Cumulative end-of-term-marks are delivered according to the academic regulations after review. Un-submitted presentations and assignments are marked as 0. Late assignments unless accompanied by officially registered extenuating circumstances, are marked at passing level only. Scheduled presentations are required to be on-time and to be considered as interim examinations.
