On completion of this module students will:
• Apply theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills in a practical work setting through carrying out a variety of supervised workplace tasks
• Develop and improve oral and written communication skills through direct engagement with colleagues, professional organisations and the general public
• Gain an authentic appreciation and understanding of the professional work environment and the tasks, challenges and dilemmas that arise on a daily basis
• Develop an emerging sense of professional identity and socialisation to the LIS profession
• Identify and develop specific professional skills related to a prospective career pathway
• Improve their ability to think, apply information to problem solving, and critically analyze information, data and concepts
• Reflect on their experience in relation to their professional training, career aspirations and personal development.
