Digital material is a central part of the modern day workplace. Individuals engage with technology and utilise digital objects, but often fail to consider how to maintain those digital objects over time. The DCC digital curation lifecycle was created to help understand the elements associated with care of digital objects, to maximise their accessibility in the future. This module introduces the stages, elements and characteristics of the DCC digital curation lifecycle so you can apply measure to your work environment, in order to maximise accessibility of digital objects in the future.

This module is only available to Professional Certificate in Digital Information Management students. Students from other programmes who attempt to enroll will be removed.

1. Define and explain key terms associated with digital information management.
2. Describe and analyse the stages, elements and characteristics of the of the DCC digital curation lifecycle.
3. Identify the key requirements for different elements, characteristics of digital curation.
4. Formulate a plan for how elements of the DCC digital curation lifecycle can be used to improve the modern workplace.
