IS20140 Exploring Text with Python

Academic Year 2023/2024

This module aims to equip students with the skill to be able to use Python to explore text collections to uncover new insights. The basics of text analysis are covered. The module is structured in a way that gives students the skills to address topics that interest them. The course will cover how text data is processed, some basic natural language techniques and visualisation techniques. Some topics might include sentiment analysis, classification, finding similarities among texts. There is a strong practical focus in this module.
